This year an estimated 192,200 women
and 1400 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Approximatley
40,200 women and 400 men will die of breast cancer this year. The
most important weapon in the battle against breast cancer is funding
for research.
On Sunday, November 4, 2001, my husband Aaron and I will be participating
in the Los Angeles County
Race for the Cure. We will be running in honor of the memory
of my mother, the late Batia Trietsch,
who lost her battle with breast cancer on July 7, 2000.
The best way to support me and Aaron in this, our first 5k race,
is to make contributions to the Susan
G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Batia
Trietsch.
